Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Linda Sánchez released the following statement on the President’s budget for Fiscal Year 2016:

“The President’s budget presents a strong roadmap for strengthening the middle class.  His budget proposal outlines investments important to Latino families – from investments in education, to workforce training programs and minority businesses.  While our economy is still recovering, the Latino unemployment rate remains higher than the national average and Latino families are still struggling to get ahead.  We can make these critical investments in our communities by passing comprehensive immigration reform – an action that would reduce the federal deficit by $160 billion in the first decade.  The Congressional Hispanic Caucus stands with President Obama in moving this budget proposal forward and ensuring that everyone plays by the same rules.”
